What Is an Enterprise Value Office?
The Enterprise Value Office
Who makes your company worth more?
You have people who sell. People who build. People who count the money. But who makes sure it all adds up to a company that’s worth more next year? That job has a name: the Enterprise Value Office, or EVO.
What is an EVO?
An EVO is a job inside your business, not a building. It has one task: connect the work you do today to what your company is worth tomorrow.
It ties your strategy, people, operations, money, growth and capital to one plan you can measure. It picks the few fixes that matter most, gives each one an owner, and checks that they actually work.
Your CEO is still the boss. Your leaders still run their teams. The EVO keeps the whole plan moving and puts the hard choices on the table.
It can be inside your company, outside it, or a mix. It should fit your size. You don’t need a big new department.
Why every serious company needs one
- More sales isn’t the same as more value. Growth can eat your cash and shrink your margin. Somebody has to check what’s behind the number.
- Plans die in meetings. A plan only works when every piece has a name, a date and a result.
- Your company should work without you. If every big call comes back to you, the company is worth less and you have fewer choices.
- Strong companies get more choices. Grow, keep it, hand it down, refinance or sell. Every option gets better when you prepare early.
What an EVO does, week by week
Every week: a short meeting with the CEO and the people leading the work. What changed in the numbers? What got done, and how do we know? What’s stuck, and who can fix it? What does the CEO need to decide? Who does what by next week?
Every month: look at real results. Earnings, cash, margin, how much you lean on your biggest customers, inventory, capacity, open leadership seats. Are the projects paying off? Do they need more help?
Every quarter: update the plan and set the next 90 days.
Every year: go back to the owner’s big goals and the long-term plan.
When something slips, the EVO asks why. Was it unclear who was in charge? Not enough help? A wrong guess? Or just no follow-through? Then it fixes the cause, not just the deadline.
The 6 pillars an EVO ties together
- Strategy. Where you’re going, and the few moves that get you there.
- Leadership. A team that can make calls without you.
- Operations. A plant and processes that can handle more orders without breaking.
- Finance. Real numbers you can trust, and cash you can see.
- Growth. Good customers and good margins, not just more sales.
- Capital. The right money, people and partners, used only when the plan needs them.
Signs you don't have an EVO yet
- Every department has a plan, but nobody owns the plan for the whole company.
- Sales are up, but cash is tight.
- One customer is a big chunk of your sales.
- Big decisions stop when you’re on vacation.
- Projects start strong and never finish.
- Each new order needs another workaround.
- You win mostly on price.
- You think about selling “someday,” but nothing’s ready today.

The Silver Tsunami: owners, this one's for you
A huge wave of business owners are nearing retirement. Many of them will want to sell, hand off, or step back in the next few years. When that time comes, buyers and successors look hard at the same things: Does it run without the owner? Are the numbers clean? Is the growth real?
The owners who get the most choices are the ones who start early. Not when a buyer calls. Not when a health scare hits. Now. An EVO turns "someday" into a plan with dates on it.
How The GAP sets up your EVO
The GAP can be your Enterprise Value Office. We run it with our system, the Enterprise Value Operating System (EVOS).
- Start with the truth. We learn your goals, your numbers, your team and your risks. If we're missing facts, we write that down instead of guessing.
- Build your LEVR. That's your Living Enterprise Value Roadmap: a few big goals, the projects that get you there, in the right order, each with an owner, a target and a date.
- Run it with the 3As:
- Advisory: experienced operators help you make the big calls. Our Advisor, Mark Parrish, is part of that bench.
- Accountability: a Managing Director meets with your CEO every week to keep the work moving.
- Access: experts, talent, capital and partners, brought in when the plan needs them.
- Check the results and update the plan. Every month and every quarter.
How we get paid: we share in the new value we help create. We'll cover the details on a call.
About our guarantee: some eligible engagements include an Enterprise Value Guarantee (EVG). It only applies under the terms of a signed agreement, with its own conditions and how it's measured. It is not a promise about what your company will be worth.

FAQ
What is an Enterprise Value Office?
It's the job in your company that makes sure today's work makes the business worth more over time. It ties strategy, people, operations, money, growth and capital to one plan you can measure.
Is an EVO a new department?
No. It's a clear job with a steady weekly rhythm. It can be inside your company, outside it, or both, and it should fit your size.
How is an EVO different from my CEO or CFO?
Your CEO still runs the company, and your CFO still runs the money. The EVO connects all the teams around one value plan, shows what depends on what, and brings stuck items to the right person.
What's the difference between EVO and EVOS?
The EVO is the job. EVOS, the Enterprise Value Operating System, is The GAP's system for doing that job.
Do I need an EVO if I'm not selling my company?
Yes. A stronger company gives you more choices: grow, keep it, hand it down, refinance or sell. You don't need a deadline to start.
Who is The GAP built for?
Owners and leaders of privately held manufacturers and e-commerce product makers, about $20M to $125M in yearly sales.
How does The GAP get paid?
We share in the new value we help create. We'll cover the details on a call.
Does The GAP guarantee my company's value?
No unconditional promise. Some eligible engagements include an Enterprise Value Guarantee, but only under the terms, conditions and measurement in a signed agreement.
